A press release said that Macut attended a ceremony marking the day of the Unit for the Protection of Designated Persons and Facilities (JZO). The JZO was engaged in breaking up a student protest in central Belgrade and alleged to have imprisoned a number of students in the garage of the government building. Its commander police Colonel Marko Kricak was reported for beating and threatening students in the garage. Kricak was later transferred to head the Criminal Police Department in Belgrade.
