A statement said that the Tuesday’s meeting of the Supreme Judiciary Council will discuss “a set of judiciary laws which would allow the executive authorities to practically take complete control over the election of judges and prosecutors”. “The essence of the draft laws is the requirement for every potential judge or prosecutor to complete training at the Judiciary Academy, an institution controlled by the Justice Ministry which is part of the executive authorities,” the union said.
