The laws were submitted to parliament by ruling SNS MP Ugljesa Mrdic. The laws limit the operations of the Organized Crime Prosecution (TOK) which has indicted ministers and other public officials involved in the reconstruction of the Novi Sad Railway Station before the collapse of a concrete canopy which claimed 16 lives and the alleged manipulation of documents to revoke the protected heritage status of the General Staff complex in central Belgrade allowing its demolition.
