Serbian authorities protest against police in Novi Sad

“The proceedings against two of our colleagues were initiated due to pressure from the top of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Belgrade. They did not do anything illegal, but removed the person so that the incident would not escalate. They only asked for the identity card of the elderly man and released him immediately afterwards. The colleague who will be suspended is charged with serious breach of official duty in the form of behavior that harms the reputation of the ministry, although he did not do this in any way, and another colleague was issued a disciplinary notice for not wearing a cap, while we watch footage of masked officers without insignia on their uniforms intervening on citizens and this goes completely unpunished,” a Novi Sad police officer whose name is known to the editorial staff told Danas.
